With this excellent hands-on classroom project, students learn about chlorophyll, photosynthesis, water absorption, transpiration and the distribution for food, minerals and water using real tree parts.
They see how a seed grows; come to understand the importance of leaves; trace the disbursement of water throughout a tree; measure tree growth and more. Most of all, they learn that trees are living, breathing creatures that grow very differently from other organisms. Grades 4-12.
Includes: 3 samples each of seeds, roots, woody twigs, herbaceous stems, bark, cross-sections, and leaves; 3 magnifying glasses; and a teacher’s manual with 8 classroom activities.
