Wild Fire Ecology Kit (Teacher-Developed, Classroom-Tested)
Forests are natural systems of living things. Fire is a natural force. Today we tend to think only of the destruction fire visits on forests, but through centuries of frequent fire influence, certain plant species and forest communities have come to depend on wild fire for survival. In this lab students simulate what occurs in a forest environment when fire passes through. Covers fire adaptation of plant species, forest regeneration and success succession, Hardy-Weinberg and more. Developed by Steve Murrie. Includes: various seeds and cones, potting soil, Jiffy Pots, instructions.
