Weather Vane

This is a simple, robust and practical weather vane.
Students will find this weather vane simple to use as they experiment with wind direction and velocity. The strength of the wind on the tail of the vane forces the arrow to point directly into the wind. Set up the weather vane direction pointer to line up with those of a compass. This practical instrument can be either hand-held or permanently-fixed. The ability to disassemble the weather vane also encourages students to think about how they might improve the exisiting design or design their own.
