The Ultra-Structure of Animal Cells Microslide |
For millions of years the only means humans had of seeing the world around them was through their eyes. As wonderful a mechanism as the human eye is, there were many things too small for it to see. There was, in effect, a world hidden from us. It was not until the 1600's that this hidden world was discovered through the "eye" of the microscope. Since then, advances in microscopy have allowed us to peer deeper and deeper into this hidden world. This series of slides takes students into the world of the ultramicroscopic revealing the ultramicroscopic structures of animal cells and cell parts.
