Called Reishi by the Japanese and Ling Chi by the Chinese, this unique "antler-forming" species of fungus is also known as the "mushroom of immortality" and is used as a medicinal fungi in Asia. Your students will watch in amazement as this slow-growing fungi progresses through a series of mesmerizing transformations, sprouting lacquered-looking antlers that elongate over a period of several months. Virtually maintenance free, the fungi only needs to be watered once every two months but will grow even if you forget to do that.
