Space...Across the Curriculum |
This cross-curricular kit uses a selection of quality children's literature about space to teach English, language arts, reading, writing, art, math, science, and social studies. Based on the National Standards and designed by teachers, the materials in this kit illustrate the key components of space and the solar system, while allowing children to use this knowledge in other studies. Lessons are provided for individual study or work in cooperative groups.
Materials for a class of 25 students include the books, Black Holes and Other Space Phenomena, The Magic School Bus #4: Space Explorers book, and The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System; 3 Sets of Base Ten Rubber Stamps; Overhead Base 10 Manipulatives; Learning Walls Solar System poster; Retelling Cubes; Guided Reading Comprehension Cubes; and instructions with reproducible student pages. Developed by Tammy Finnerty, Noreen Roberts, and Kimberly Stewart.
