Hydroponics is a way of growing plants in a nutritional liquid rather than in soil. The word hydroponics comes from the Latin "water working". Hydroponics can also be called "controlled environmental agriculture". Hydroponics is far from a new concept.
Hydroponic Gardens exist all over the world and variations of this technology have been used for thousands of years. Examples are the famous hanging gardens of Babylon, the floating gardens of the Aztecs in Mexico and those of the Chinese.
