Weather...Across the Curriculum |
This cross-curricular kit uses a selection of quality children's literature about weather to teach English, language arts, reading, writing, art, math, science, and social studies. Based on the National Standards and designed by teachers, the materials in this kit illustrate the key components of weather, while allowing children to use this knowledge in other studies. Lessons are provided for individual study or work in cooperative groups. Materials for a class of 25 students include the three book series, Wind, Rain, and Snow; Attribute Blocks templates, graph paper, Guided Reading Spinners, a Water Cycle poster, weather station, Tornado Tube, Snowfall Map transparency, KWL, transparency; and instructions with reproducible student pages.
