Use the Trait Ball to help students identify and review the 6+1 Trait Writing qualities that define strong writing. With the toss of a ball, these fun and interactive activities reinforce the traits of ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, and presentation. The Trait Ball and Format Cube provide a fun, interactive activity to reinforce the traits of good writing.
You can also use the Format Cube to introduce six formats for students to use in their writing. Whether they are writing or assessing directions (how-to writing), summaries, journal entries, letters, stories, or essays, students can learn what good writing looks like, and have fun too!
