An exciting activity that will help to foster awareness and appreciation of the Earth's history. Students work in groups to cast their very own fossil replicas, learn facts about their fossil and complete an exercise sheet and time line for not only their fossil but every other group's fossil as well. There are six different fossils in all! When finished with activities, students should be able to (1) explain how fossils are formed, (2) identify six different fossils and retain some knowledge of each, and (3) reproduce fossil replicas of their own.
