Optical Illusion Rubbing Plates

Create your own optical illusions with these unique rubbing plates (set of six). Six different designs give students a variety of choices and results. To use, lay paper over the sturdy plastic plates and rub with crayons or colored pencils. To create an optical illusion, place a sheet of paper on one of the plates and using the side of a crayon, rub the plate pattern onto the plate. Turn the paper slightly and rub again with a second color to create illusions. Best to work on a hard, flat surface. You can use a variety of mediums (crayons, chalk, pencils, etc.), have fun experimenting! You can even design your own hand-made paper! Includes idea guide with instructions.
