METRIC-ulator (Teacher-Developed, Classroom-Tested)

A "sliderule type" device that tells the user how to convert from one metric unit to another unit by changing prefixes. Can be used to convert any unit that uses metric prefixes. A lesson plan is included in the instructions to help students learn to use the METRIC-ulator and about metric prefixes and conversions. A great tool for students use to do their work all year. Helps them gain a more complete understanding of units and reduces dependence on calculators. One kit includes 10 METRIC-ulators and instructions with reproducible worksheets. Inexpensive enough for students to keep. Developed by Brad Vincent.
