Constellation Trackers |
Create your own representations of northern sky constellations with this comprehensive kit. Students study star charts and then punch pin-holes in strips of paper to form various constellations. Using their re-creations and provided viewfinders, you can see constellation groups and the changing positions of a single constellation through the year. The activity also allows for students to design their own constellations using the provided patterns. Interdisciplinary language arts activities are easily integrated when students write about their created constellations and their imagined history. Developed by Kenneth Carlson. Includes complete instructions and materials for 30 trackers. Grades 5–10.
