Designed by science teacher Jean Dickson, this kit provides a unique, hands-on method for reproducing a paleontological dig in the classroom. Using a specially designed container, your first group of students can build their own fossil hunting ground. Armed with varying grades of sand, fine gravel and fossil replicas, students will determine the age of the creatures that the fossils represent, and deposit them to match their relative position in geologic time. Your next class will then begin their dig, searching the strata for each find to determine the age of their discoveries. A great way to teach the concepts of stratification, deposition and more. Includes: container, replica fossils, gravel, sand (fine, coarse and blue) and complete instructions. Grades 7-10.
