A Stream in your Classroom

Use simple materials to create a simulated stream right in your classroom.
Developed by teachers Roy and Heidi Boyle, this hands-on lab allows students to explore stream channels, aquatic life, food chains, pollution, and more. The “stream” is a long strip of paper with laminated organism sheets. Students can identify/classify organisms, determine the health index, take a census, and more. Includes instructions. Grades 5–9.
